The Song of the Mass: NCS Summer Concert || Cambridge

Rheinberger’s a cappella Mass for double choir (subtitled 'The Song of the Mass') is one of the most beautiful choral works of the 19th century: elegant, rich and flowing. We place it among other sublime choral music from Romantic-era Germany, with songs, sacred music, and lieder by Brahms and Mendelssohn, as well as neglected songs by Mendelssohn’s sister Fanny Hensel.
